    allan - Hi George
The canvas is a photo printed on a pure cotton canvas that has been specially coated to accept pigment inks. It is then varnished and stretched over a form. The traditional photo is printed on Platine a photo paper that also has a pure rag base and photographic coating to accept pigment ink. Photos are normally matted and framed whereas the canvas can be hung as is.

George Verplank - I’m interested in purchasing the Lake Nicholson photo taken near Crested Butte, CO. I’m not sure I understand the canvas look vs. the look of a high quality photo. Please explain in layman’s terms. Thank you.
